we ARe VR
Jozi, Africa
Welcome to weAReVR, the XR (eXtended Reality) capital of Africa.
Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, weAReVR jozi started as a small community of artists, developers, and educators at the forefront of African-made VR (Virtual Reality), AR (Augmented Reality), 360-degree video, and immersive technologies in general. Every month, we spotlight new XR projects and the people that make them a reality at our meetups (now held in altspace) on the last Thursday of every month.
The digital community, weAReVR africa is our way of including a diverse range of storytellers and innovators from around the continent. Our allies across Africa hail from Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Botswana, and our connections are expanding.
